Lasers
Wiizzzzz, Bzzooooww, LAAAZZZERZZ! Lasers.
I’ve been added as a guest at The Lakes International Comic Art Festival. I think it’s the first time i’ve been a proper guest so maybe come and say hey. My good buddy Jonathan has done loads of mascots for them, which are featured in his rad poster below…
I know it’s been a while since I posted up a load of comics, and for that I’m truly sorry. But I have been drawing comics, a bit. Since my last update I’ve been involved in three glorious publications, pictured above:
To Be or Not To Be – Ryan North
I am so excited to be in this book, it did so well on Kickstarter that Mr. Ryan North asked me to draw an illustration for one of the endings. There are so many amazing artists in this book.. And look, it’s in the Guardian!

The Thought Bubble 2013 Anthology – Image Comics
There are some wild names in this book, like Nicholas Gurewitch of the Perry Bible Fellowship and Jeffrey Brown. My half page comic strip is about cloning and apples, I think you’d like it. Also, the profits go to Barnardo’s.

The Hic & Hoc Illustrated Journal Of Humo(u)r – Hic and Hoc
Now, here’s a thing, myself and Lizz Lunney were asked to edit the second outing of the Hic and Hoc’s humor anthology. The first issue concentrated on artists from the United States, this on, the UK. It turned out really nice, i’m really proud to have my name on it.
I have a new print that i’m going to take to Nobrow’s ELCAF festival this weekend. I’ve already given a copy to the Man of Steel himself (pictured below), and he thinks it’s great. I hope you do to.
If there is enough interest I will put them up for sale online, if you can’t wait, send me an email to secure one.
NOBROW’s ELCAF is coming up FAST and i’m really excited about it. If you live in (or within a manageable distance to) London you should come and say hi. I’ll have a load of cool affordable items with me, like comics and prints and badges.
Also, if you bring The Weekend Magazine with you, I’ll do you a complimentary doodle that you can love and cherish for all days.
Here are a couple of nice things that appeared on the internet last week:

Page 45 is a pretty great independent comic shop, based in Nottingham, they have written up some positive reviews for Land Lubber and Skimpy Jim over on their website. Page 45: January Reviews
Blyths Art Shop
Blyths is the art shop where I buy my sketchbooks from, and last week they made me their featured artist, which was also very nice. http://hblythco.tumblr.com/post/40166440090/joelistartistfeature
